Albufeira comprises of a quaint fishing village and a sophisticated holiday resort combined into one.

Located in amid the cliffs, Albufeira sprawls along cobbled streets, white washed bungalows with a Moorish historical background. There are numerous areas of Albufeira, stretching from Gale in the West to Falesia in the East.

In old town Albufeira, on the Praia dos Pescadores, fishermen´s beach, local fishermen still unload their nights catch and trade directly to the local fish restaurants. Set behind the beach are streets of bars, restaurants all leading to the large square of Albufeira bordered with palm trees. At night this area becomes a hive of activity and you can amble the streets looking at the marketplace , watch the street entertainers or merely just take a beer and watch the world pass by.

In the new town of Albufeira, called Montechoro, you will find "the Strip" lined with bars, restaurants and souvenir shops leading down to the beach Praia da Oura.

The beaches in this area are brilliant, most crowded are fishermens beach and Praia da Oura, small "cove" beaches include São Rafael, Coelha and Castello beach.
